Colorado RECA Coalition

Uniting Colorado to gain federal recognition and essential support for all communities impacted by our nation's nuclear history.

H.R. 10115 is a proposed federal bill designed to update current laws so that Colorado communities impacted by past nuclear activities are formally recognized. This legislation aims to provide long-awaited support and acknowledgment to residents who lived downwind and workers across the state.

DECADES OF ACTION.

Local governments and school districts have repeatedly taken extraordinary steps in response to exposure and contamination concerns from Rocky Flats and Cotter Mill.

THE PATTERN IS THE POINT.

These actions span more over decades.

Communities have protected drinking water.

School districts have kept children away.

Cities have abandoned transportation and recreation projects.

Municipal governments have sued federal agencies.

And local officials are still warning the public about potential radioactive exposure.

Actions this serious are not taken, repeatedly and across generations of local leadership, without reason for concern.
